Why do people love being Violent while playing Hockey? Is there something on Ice there?

Sometimes they ask me to join them playing hockey just for fun. I love to imagine I play for the Mighty Ducks and use my figure-skating skill out there. Lol, they found that rather amusing and funny!
But anyway, how come people could be so different while playing hockey?
